Online training – you need to register an account on the da Vinci website
If you have not previously registered you will need to do so and complete the on line training modules.
- Simulator training – you need to use the simulator in your trust. Please liaise with your local Intuitive rep for help. Logging on as guest and taking pictures through the surgeon console of your scores is acceptable. You will need to achieve a minimum of 85% on:

- Big dipper Needle Driving or suture sponge
- Sea spike 1
- Three arm relay
- Ring rollercoaster
- Reading Intuitive training day Friday 11th September 2026– practical and theory day on using the Da Vinci systems. Attendance on this day is a compulsory component of the course.

09:15 – Lecture – Surgeon Console, Patient Cart, Vision Cart and instruments Overview
10:45 – Practical – Port Placement and Docking
12:30 – Lunch
13:15 – Practical – Intraoperative use and Troubleshooting
14:00 – Practical – Simulator competition and dry skills
15:30 – Close of training

Live operating – Saturday 12th September 2026 – Queen Alexandra Hospital, Southwick Road, Cosham, Portsmouth, PO6 3LY. 0730-1700. Attendance on this day is compulsory.At a minimum you will be table side for one cholecystectomy and operating surgeon for another cholecystectomy. There will also be simulators available all day for more practising.
