Who We Are

Supporting Theatre Practitioners

ALRTS is a professional association dedicated to supporting theatre practitioners in robotic and minimally invasive surgery. Working alongside the ALRSGBI, ALRTS represents the theatre staff, scrub practitioners, surgical care practitioners, and allied health professionals who are integral to the delivery of safe, high-quality minimally invasive surgical care.

ALRTS champions the professional development, competency recognition, and wellbeing of those working in laparoscopic and robotic theatre environments — building a collaborative community united by a commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.

Emelia Geraldine Gagasa

Clinical Lead, Robotic Surgery

With over 31 years of clinical leadership and surgical operations experience, Emelia brings a wealth of expertise to the ALRTS Chair role. Her work focuses on building professional standards and advocating for theatre practitioners across the South of England.

Carmine Civilli, MSc, BSc (Hons)

Surgical Care Practitioner & Robotic Bedside Assistant

Carmine is a highly qualified Surgical Care Practitioner and Robotic Bedside Assistant with a particular focus on human factors in surgery. His leadership in the North champions the recognition and development of theatre practitioners in robotic surgical settings.
